Classroom Decorating Ideas
I am so excited about the new school year!!
First of all I must admit that I have spent an embarrassing amount of hours pinning ideas on Pinterest over the summer and most of them will only get the
“Oh Yeah…I wanted to do that….”
a few months later.
However, of all the classroom decorating ideas I came across this summer, I did find one amazing pinterest idea that I actually decided:
“THIS ONE….. I HAVE TO TRY…”
So here are my pics… (You should click on the pinterest link to get the full explanation and other great Classroom Decorating Ideas…)
Not so easy living in a small town…
Let me begin by saying THIS WAS NOT an easy product to find. My local stores did not have it… I found I could order it online from Staples or Amazon, but I wanted them RIGHT NOW… I’m like that
My husband and I were going on a road trip to bring our oldest to university…SNIFF SNIFF… So I thought I would look in THE BIG CITY while we were there….NOTHING!!!!
On our way home…SNIFF SNIFF…. we thought we would drive home through another bigger center in our home province and try there. Yeah!!! Found them!!!
I was nervous…
So basically the idea is that you can use a Sharpie oil pen to write on the desk and erase it with white board markers…
The following day I went to my new classroom and “tested” it on one desk… I was really scared to ruin 26 desks and thought…
“But I saw it on pinterest!”was not going to be a valid excuse.
Here is what the pen looks like. There are instructions on the pen for first time use… Its very straight forward…
The set I bought came with 5 different colors. -Black-White-Yellow–Blue–Red.
So I found a “tester” desk and wrote my name in BLACK… I felt like I was vandalizing…But I trusted that it would work….
“Please Let This Come Off!”
I let it dry for about 10 minutes…then following the Pinterest instructions, I colored over it with one of my Expo white board marker.
At this point I am still VERY NERVOUS!!!!
Then I wiped it off with some EXPO cleaner…
There was some residue at first…however, I continued to clean it and it did come right off…
I’m really starting to brainstorm new ways to use this new found treasure and will definitely be adding it to my Classroom Decorating Ideas folder.
I’ll keep you posted!!!! Have a great year!!!
[…] my desks are all numbered (thanks to my Sharpie paint markers, which you can read about by clicking here) the number on the desk represents the number on their answer […]
