Making your own resources is part of being a French Immersion teacher. We have all translated many documents and created many activities for our students…It is part of what we do!!! We don’t exactly reinvent the wheel…It’s more along the lines of recreating it. Our students have unique challenges to meet and simply translating without taking into account that they are second language learners doesn’t always work out…

Whether you follow four-blocks or daily 5… Word walls and word work are a part of balance literacy and best practice. This too has changed in my 15+ years of teaching.
“Green eyed-monster”
I’ve always loved many of the cute word wall activities commercially available to my English counterparts. They are always soooo adorable and seem to be readily available. This year I decided to create my own… I started by creating my word wall. The words assigned to my grade level have changed many times since its inception, but that’s O.K…. It simply means our program is evolving and that’s a good thing… Then I began creating word work activities to go with my word wall. Here is a sample of some of the activities my students work on……
