Today I told the kids a little about myself… In French I told them that in my family there are 4 people. I have a mother. Her name is Yvette. I have a sister. Her name is Rachelle. I have a brother. His name is Jean-Marc. Then I asked the kids to tell me about their family. This allows the students to develop their French oral skills before we put it on paper.
It is soooo important that French second language learners are able to say it before they can write it. This will help them with many reading and writing activities to follow.
First they will write about their families…then they will use it to describe their monster’s family.
The frequent use to the language in all components (Speaking, Reading and Writing) helps solidify the language.
